This last weekend my wife and I took a trip to North Conway. North Conway is an hour and 45 minutes from our apartment. It is situated in the White Mountains which cover a quarter of the state of New Hampshire. The area is popular with campers and skiiers…. and photographers!
On the way up we stopped at Chocura Lake. I had photographed the lake a few weeks earlier but this time was able to get some shots of the lake frozen and the snow topped mountain in the background.

On Saturday night we stayed at the beautiful White Mountain Hotel. The hotel is situated next to a tall cliff face on one side and the beautiful mountain range on the other.
Here are a few pictures of the hotel:

The following day we visited the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods. The resort is very picturesque all year round but even more so in the snow. There were only a couple of inches of snow on the ground in an area which is used to seeing several feet! We stopped off in the hotel for a coffee and a cookie before continuing our drive around the White Mountain region.

We were hoping to see some moose while in the region. I have been in New Hampshire for nearly 4 months now and am yet to see one. After a lot of driving around and keeping our eyes peeled we realised it was not to be. For this trip at least. I am now more determined than ever to see my first moose! Watch this space!
Dude, you worked at Toad for 8 years and reckon you haven’t ever seen a moose. That’s a lie – just go in the call centre! Can’t email you as Outlook 2007 has decided to be pants and not open for the past week and a half – been too busy to fix my own darn machine! hope you’re keeping weel son, pictures look awesome – better than a grey frosty day in Mitcham at any rate!
