One of the perks of living and working on the New Hampshire seacoast is the easy access to lots of tasty seafood! I took a trip down to Petey’s Summertime Seafood and Bar on Ocean Blvd. in Rye, NH at lunch today for one of their lobster rolls. Their lobster rolls are the best I have tasted on the seacoast. At $19.61 (including meal taxes) the price is high but the size of the sandwich and quantity of lobster meat still makes it a much better deal than you find at other places.
Hurricane Bill passed 150 miles off the coast of New Hampshire this weekend bringing big waves and dangerous rip tides to the states beaches. We spent a few hours on Sunday at Jenness Beach.
The large waves brought big sweeping tides for paddling.
As the tide came in, so did larger waves.
Lifeguards kept watch as high tide approaches:

Following the closure of the beach I went to Wallis Sands where people were watching the coastline take a pounding by the waves:
President Obama flew into town today to talk about his health care plans at the high school. I headed down to Pease International Airport which is located a couple of miles away from my work. It’s a favourite lunch time spot of mine which I normally share with a handful of people but today there were thousands! I was lucky enough to find parking and see Air Force One land, and couple of hours later, take off.

Later on in the day I returned at 3:20 to see Air Force One depart:

Mayhewblog.com has a new look! Not only am I saving the planet by turning the lights out on the background, but the darker effect also seems to make the pictures stand out more.
I have also moved the blog to the front page to save you an extra click.
