An Englishman in New England
On Friday I was on my usual drive around the air base in Portsmouth and snapped a few pictures of some wild turkeys crossing the road. Not an uncommon sight around here. I submitted them to ABC/WMUR and one of them was featured on News9 at 11:30pm.
Yesterday afternoon, President Obama flew into Portsmouth International Airport at Pease to give a health care speech in Portland, Maine. During my lunch break I headed down there to watch and video it land. Later in the day after work, I returned to Pease just in time to see Air Force One leave for Boston.
A business jet taxis to runway 32 ahead of Air Force One’s arrival.

Vehicles lined the perimeter fence to see Obama’s arrival. Later on the police moved everyone from this area so we relocated to directly under the flight path to the runway (much more secure?)!
The coast guard circled the airfield prior to Air Force One’s arrival.
A view of the bus station next to the airport from where we stood to see Air Force One land.
Air Force One at the opposite end of the airport taxiing to depart for Boston.
Several KC-135′s operate out of the air base at Pease. Here is some video of them landing prior to Obama’s arrival:
And here is the video I took of Air Force One arriving from D.C. and departing to Boston later in the day:
