- flickr – A great place to share your photos with the world. Basic accounts are free or for just $24.95 you can get unlimited uploads for a whole year!
- CDBurnerXP – CDBurnerXP is a free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs. Despite the name, it’s also supported by Windows 2000/2003 Server and Vista.
- WordPress – An excellent blogging platform.
- Twitter - Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
- Animoto - Upload your favourite images, add a soundtrack and let Animoto do the rest! Fantastically dynamic video rendering brings your images alive.
- TrueCrypt – Free open-source disk encryption software.
- HostGator – An excellent web host, shared and dedicated servers available at a very reasonable price. In fact, this very page is hosted with them.
- Audacity – Audacity is the best free, open source software for recording and editing sounds.
- ESET NOD32 – The best anti-virus software going, with very little overhead and offered at a reasonable price.
- Defraggler – A really nice defrag tool. Allows you to degrag individual files and folders as well as entire volumes. Nice interface.
- VLC Media Player – A media player that actually plays all your media! Unlike Windows Media Player this one plays a wide variety of media without needing to download codecs.
- Clonezilla – A free disaster recovery, disk cloning and deployment solution.
